Kurzweil Sp4 Editor Serial Mom5/6/2021
Alternatively you may be able to source some go-between unit that receives a type B slave, powers it, and converts this to traditional MIDI out (I am not aware of any off the top of my head but worth a peek online). The GM curve is pretty open and wont yelp the patch to much, that one and Light 2.I ran in Mono on many gigs through a Eon G2 and it was a pretty substantial piano sound for moderatly loud blues.
Also with Kurzweils pull out some midrange and slightly raise the treble. SP6, CP-50, FP-80, PX5-S, NE-5d61, XK-3, CX-3, Yamaha YUX Upright, 66 B3Leslie 145122. NanoKontrol is mini USB beside and must use external power to work. I have a NanoKontrol to sell on Ebay now, worth about 40 or so. The Evolutions are about 80-125 on Ebay and they are getting harder to find and are out of production. Could the sp48 layer volumesmutes (or even the effects) be controlled with the nanokontrol easily Yes, Reverb and effect (organ only so far) Would it be setup globally Or would it need to be set up per patch for Organ patches it is setup globally. Well, you could probably use the NanoKontrol (for organ faders, as you describe) if either (a) you had a laptop as part of the rig, or (b) you added the iConnectMIDI box to adapt the NanoKontrol to standard 5-pin DIN MIDI. ![]() So now this is probably a really dumb question: What about a usb-to-midi cableadapter (nanokontrol to sp4-8). ![]() So now this is probably a really dumb question: What about a usb-to-midi cableadapter (nanokontrol to sp4-8) That does not work either, tried that. Just shoot Kurzweil support an email, they will explain it, I have the email herer at work somewhere. If I can find it, Ill post it Here it is: Hi Anthony Thank you for your support of the Kurzweil family of musical instruments and pro audio electronics. The issue is that the SP4 and devices like it only support communication with class-compliant storage devices. A MIDI controller uses a wholly different protocol including different connector. In general a type B connector (slave) device (like the SP4) can only use power, it cant supply any. Only type A connectors (Masters) are allowed to supply power. Aside from power issues, two slaves connected together (as you have forced here) wont do anything anyway. Both will be listening for commands from the non-existent master. So the solution here is you need to employ a fader-unit that offers a traditional MIDI out (then connect that to the SP4 MIDI In).
